FAIR News Publishing Limited grew from the voluntary association FAIR
(Family Action Information Resource), which was formed in 1976 by parents whose
children had been recruited by destructive cults, along with concerned academics,
professionals, politicians and journalists. FAIR gave advice to the victims of
harmful cultic groups, whether families, ex-members or other individuals, and
produced information in the form of "FAIR News", three or four times a year -

Shortly afterwards, FAIR News Publishing was incorporated to continue producing a
news and information service. FAIR News is still issued in hard-copy format three
times a year, and this web-site is designed to make the cult issue more accessible
to a wider audience online.
